A concert full of emotions and enthusiasm 13 May 2017

The TSSO presence in Vasiliko Theatre, on May's Fridays, continued with a wonderful concert, which was full of emotions and excitement. The orchestra offered the audience an unforgattable musical experience.

The atmosphere was emotional from the beginniing, since the conductor Yoav Talmi dedicated his Elegy “Dachau Reflections’ to the more than 50.000 Jews from Thessaloniki that lost their lives from Nazis, during World War II.

Subsequently, the soloist of the concert Dmitry Gudimov had a surprise for the audience. So, after his wonderful intepretation in Tchaikovsky’s ‘Rococo Variations’, he played at the encore the Lamentatio by Giovanni Sollima, singing himself the laments, as this piece requires. “After all” he said “it is usual lately to sing at the encores”.

The second part included a magnificent interpretation of Mahler’s ‘Symphony Nr.1”, since this great conductor took, once again, the maximum from the orchestra. This performance thrilled the audience and created high enthusiasm for several minutes. At the end, all the musicians honored Yoav Talmi and thanked him for the excelent cooperation.
