Arsenis Selalmazidis won the Panhellenic Violin Competition 'Young Artists 2017' 03 June 2017

The T.S.S.O. Panhellenic Violin Competition 'Young Artists 2017' ended up yesterday with a wonderful final round in Vassiliko Theater. The three talented violonists interpreted demanding works, accompaning by the T.S.S.O., conducting by Stefanos Tsialis.

Mr Vranos opened the ceremony as the President of the Jury and thanked the audience and the orchestra for the three years of cooperation, as it was the last TSSO concert with him as its Director. Then he invited Mrs Kotoula, the wife of late Dimitrios Dimitriadis, the man that created the competition with the orchestra and it is been made every year in his honor.

The concert started with Katerina Chatzinikolaou in Mendelsshon's Piano concerto, then Alexander Petrin interpreted Glazounov's Piano concerto and finally Arsenis Selalmazidis played Tchaikovsky's Piano concerto.

After the necessary meeting, the Jury of the Competition (Georgios Vranos, Simos Papanas, Irina Dragneva, Andreas Papanikolaou, Noé Inui) announced the prizes as follows:

3rd prize (800 €) to Alexander Petrin.
The award was given by Mrs Kotoula.

2nd Prize (1.200 €) to Aikaterini Chatzinikolaou
The prize was given by Mr. Tsialis

1st Prize (2,000 € and concert with the TSSO as a soloist) to Arsenis Selalmazidis
The award was given by Mr Vranos
