Loizos Reborn 08 October 2017

«...we felt to be part of something different, something important,
something that has all the good stuff that new loves and meetings bring: electricity!»

Foivos Delivorias, singer

The two-days tribute to the 80 years since Manos Loizos birth, organized by the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, had a great success and gave the opportunity to about 3.000 people to live a unique musical experience.

The three great singers, Dimitra Galani, Foivos Delivorias and Giota Negka, created a very powerful combination on stage with the T.S.S.O. conducted by Miltos Logiadis. Antonis Sousamoglou and Lazaros Tsavdaridis orchestrations gave a new and interesting dimension to the familiar and beloved Manos Loizos songs. Furthermore, Sousamoglou brilliantly combined Loizos music with composers like Mahler, Shostakovitch, Bartok and Bernstein in his symphonic suite 'Loizos Recomposed'.

All the artists were thrilled after the concerts.

Miltos Logiadis said: 'It was a wonderful experience since we all enjoyed this great composer's music, along with the incredible interpretations by the singers and also by the orchestra, that moved me a lot.

Dimitra Galani talked very warmly about the orchestra: "What can I say? You have made me very happy today. You are by far the best Greek orchestra and one of the best I've ever heard. This was a dream came true. You are wonderful and thank you for the culture you offer".

Foivos Delivorias stated: "It was a great experience! The orchestra is trully at its best. I was thinking about how hard it was for the composers at 60s, 70s and 80s to get in touch with the symphonic world. People like Antonis Sousamoglou and Lazaros Tsavdaridis, along with the Megaron and the TSSO headquarters who dared to make this tribute happen, give a solution to all of us who belong in a different artistic world. We felt to be part of something different, something important, something that has all the good stuff that new loves and meeting bring: electricity!"

Giota Negka said about the concerts: "It was an amazing concert! Great music, great orchestrations, incredible feelings, true and rich. I'm touched, excited, happy and very honored to be part of all this".

Antonis Sousamoglou said that he was very happy about the fact that the orchestra performed his work's world premiere and for the collaboration with all these great artists.

Manos Loizos's daughter, Myrsini, along with her family honored this tribute with their presence.
