Evangelia Koutsodimou

Evangelia Koutsodimou was born and raised in Samos in 2002. She started violin lessons at the age of eight, receiving home tuition from Elena Kalinkina.
Since October 2019, she has been taking distance learning online lessons with Elias Livieratos, the number one viola player in the Greek Academy of Music. In 2020, she was admitted to the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia, specializing in “Violin” and taught by Dimitris Chandrakis. She holds a Bachelor’s degree specializing in ‘Violin Performance’.
She has taken lessons with Katerina Hatzinikolaou, Kostas Panagiotidis, Ioannis Korbetis, David Bogorad, Bartek Niziol, Kurt Nikannen, Noé Inui, Eszter Haffner, Borislava Illceva, Timothy Schwarz and Dmitry Serebrenikov.
She has actively participated in the Violin seminars of the Music Academy of Anargyrio and Korgialenio School of Spetses 2022, the ΚMH (Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm) and the Pelion Festival 2024.
She has been a principal in the CosmoClassical Youth Orchestra with conductor Yannis Protopapas and under the guidance of Gary Kudo (Mannheim National Theatre) and Soprano Alexia Voulgaridou. She was selected after an audition for the Mediterranean Youth Symphony Orchestra for the 2023-2024 artistic season in the first violins and since April 2023 she has been a member of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra.
In June 2024, she was the principal conductor of the Orchestra established in the cooperation program of the University of Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia (MET), MOYSA - Youth Symphony Orchestra of the University of Thessaloniki and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Heraklion (SONKDI).
During her fourth year of study, she was a concerto player of the Orchestra of the University of Macedonia. In January 2024, she was selected after an audition to participate in the framework of her internship in concerts of the Thessaloniki State Orchestra in the first violins for the period April-June 2024, while since August 2024 she has been a permanent member of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra in the first violins.
In January 2025, he participated in a series of concerts with the Spanish Youth Symphony Orchestra (JONDE) under the direction of Vasily Petrenko. He won the 3rd prize in the “Ilias Kouskouvelis” Competition and the international competition “Music in the Vineyards” in 2022, the 2nd Place in the 7th Panhellenic Music Competition of the Group for Unesco, the first Prize and the award for excellent performance in the fourth Panhellenic Music Competition “Tasos Pappas”. He is in the first year of the Postgraduate Program “Sciences and Arts” of the University of Macedonia.
