Two Schumann's protagonists 06 October 2018

The two Schumann (in a direct way or not) were the stars of the concert the day before yesterday, that T.S.S.O. honored the 30 years of fraternization between Thessaloniki and Cologne, supported by the Consulate General of Germany in Thessaloniki.  The young German virtuoso Erik Schumann, pleased everyone with his interpretation of Bruchs’ “Violin Concerto No.1”. At the end of the concert, he thanked the audience for the friendly atmosphere and praised the orchestras’ high level. He also stated, before interpreted Bach as an encore that enthuse the audience, that he spent a beautiful week in Thessaloniki.

In the second part, the audience had the chance to enjoy the beautiful “Rhenish Symphony” of Robert Schumann, foreword by the conductor Zoi Tsokanou . The first piece was the Panhellenic premiere of the “Impromptu, for orchestra” of the Cologne avant garde composer Bernd Alois Zimmermann.
