The audience reacted with excitement to the innovative mixture of opera and drama that TSSO and NTNG presented at the 53
rd Dimitria Festival. The cynosure was Poulencs’ and Cocteau's “The Human Voice”, the astonishing monologue of a woman facing abandonmenthat, which the two institutions performed each their own way.
The evening started with the operatic version starring mezzo soprano Electra Platiopoulou as the ruined woman and the TSSO conducted by Philippe Forget. After intermission it was performed in the version of a play with actress Maria Hadjioannidou directed by Giorgos Kafkas.
