The world’s biggest harp manufacturing company, Salvi Harps, exhibits its harps in the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, accompanied by a recital of renowned harpists, such as Anaïs Gaudemard, Katerina Kitsou, Electra Peleki

Duo with the violinist Simos Papanas for a musical surprise
 
 
“This programme is intended as a tribute to those performers who have played a central role in the central role in the writing of the harp repertoire. Several of them were harpists themselves, like Albert Zabel and have thus left their mark on the the harp, demonstrating a remarkable mastery instrumental mastery. The recital will begin with extracts from the notebook where Leopold Mozart, between about 1759 and 1764, wrote music for his daughter, Maria Anna Mozart (affectionately called ‘Nannerl’), to teach her to play the keyboard). Louis Spohr was inspired by conjugal love, and it was to his wife Dorette, an excellent harpist, that he dedicated his ‘Phantaisie Op.35’. I will be performing a work written for me, ‘Nachtstück’ by David Coleman, and another contemporary work by Philippe Hersant, commissioned by the Lily Laskine International Competition in 2002. The contemporary works will be surrounded by works by Debussy, who was himself very inspired by the harp and whose music is wonderfully suited to the instrument. Finally, I'll be ending the concert with a privileged partner and friend for a musical surprise in a violin and harp duet with Simos Papanas, himself a composer. I have every confidence in Simos Papanas' ability and in the strength of his proposals to add local color to the end of this concert.”

“I hope to share with them the range of possibilities with the instrument and all the secrets of the repertoire I know. I think my method is inspired by this quotation by Nicolas Boileau (1636 - 1711) « What is well conceived is clearly stated, and the words to say it come easily ». Reading and understanding a score quickly; its structure, style, musical context etc. Building a technique at the service of music and… vice versa! We will undoubtedly be concentrating on the subject of memory and the role of the body, particularly in preparing for deadlines for a better appreciation of the stage.”
