The great Julian Rachlin 04 March 2025

It is very important for our city to host world-class artists and to give the audience the opportunity to enjoy their performance, since this is usually an experience of a lifetime. Such an experience was experienced by music lovers at the concert on Thursday 27/2, where Julian Rachlin offered a wonderful performance of Mendelssohn's masterpiece violin concerto and rightly met the audience's apotheosis by returning the five-minute applause with an excerpt from Bach's Partita in D minor, BWV 1004. Of course, the cooperation of the institutions makes it easier to call such artists and this was also the case in this particular co-production of the TSSO with the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. The evening's beautiful program began with Gade's atmospheric and impressive 'Highlands' and concluded with one of the greatest symphonic works ever written, Brahms' 3rd Symphony, with the TSSO captivating the audience, in the sure hands of its Principal Conductor Leo McFall.
